It’s well worth keeping an eye on Amazon as they fluctuate prices on a daily basis depending upon demand. A good strategy for purchasing a cheap 40 LCD from Amazon is to look out for models that have been newly released, or that have been out of stock for a while and then reintroduced.
Very often Amazon prices it’s first batch of TVs at a low price to get the goods moving. This can result in some very cheap 40 LCD TV bargains. They then start to revise the price upwards until they find the perfect point at which their selling a good volume of TVs and making healthy profits.
Not many of the High Street outlets can compete with Amazon for price or stockholding, so it’s worth making them your first port of call.

What was once an outlet for secondhand bric-a-brac is now a treasure trove of TV bargains. Not only are there new 40 ” Tvs on offer on Ebay, but if you’re happy to buy a used, or nearly-new model then you can grab a real bargain.
Some of the major manufacturers, including Sony and Samsung, use independent technicians to repaid TVs which are faulty ‘out of the box’. These technicians then sell the TVs on Ebay, often offering a full 12 month warranty on the product.
As with all purchases it’s worth checking their feedback. Make sure that seller has good feedback going back a number of months and is prepared to accept Paypal (for what little protection it offers) If the seller claims to be selling a repaird model, check their feedback to see how many of them they’ve sold in the past. Don’t be afraid to have a look through their selling history and contact a previous buyer to make sure the TV is still performing adequately (after all feedback is normally given quite quickly, before any faults develop)
Many of the smaller High Street agents use Ebay to sell clearance lines and slow moving items. This is a great way to find a cheap 40 Inch LCD. Just make sure that you check the delivery costs, as very often on TVs these can be so high that the item is still cheaper elsewhere (delivery is normally free on Amazon)
